SPONSOR PROFILE – NUTRIMATE DOG FOOD
Posted on: 20 March
The guy on the right is Richard Pace. He has been a Vet golfer for 10 years and no doubt many of you have met him and played a round of golf with him over the years. He, with his son Ryan, is the founder of silver sponsor Nutrimate Dog Food who have sponsored the WA Vets for at least 5 years. It is interesting to note that Richard is a former committee member of the WAVGA and used to do my role as sponsorship co-ordinator, which does explain the origin of his sponsorship.
Now, I don’t own a dog, and probably many other Vets also don’t own a dog, so why would we bother to get interested in Nutrimate Dog Food because we don’t eat it, (although, with the quality natural ingredients it is made with, we could possibly thrive on it like thousands of lucky dogs do!).

I have discovered that there is so much more to this Company than a simple “wet” dog food product. Richard has been in the food industry for a long time and fed humans for thirty years as the founder of Canon Foods – an exclusively West Australian Company. When he sold his business, he could not find a buyer for the specialized facility containing food preparation areas and freezers and so he changed direction and started producing food for dogs instead. Now, Nutrimate Dog Food is sold in IGA, Farmer Jacks, Coles and Spudshed. They use sustainable excess raw materials such as carrots that might otherwise go to waste simply because they don’t look pretty on a supermarket shelf.

Nutrimate is a regular supporter of four charities that care for unloved and needy dogs – like the Dogs Refuge Home WA; Saving Animals Matters Rescue; Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue and Give our Strays a Chance.
They also sponsor Happiness Co. a West Australian mental health organization and of course, the old dogs that play golf with the WA Vets!
There is no way for Richard to assess the monetary value of his sponsorship of the WA Vets through product sales to us. What we can do, and I urge all Vets to do this, is to approach Richard personally and acknowledge his massive generosity to us and to the WA community and thank him for it.
